Jonas Lund has worked his way up within the company since he started in 2005. “He has been involved in almost all areas of the company, from production and recipe development to sales and marketing. His commitment to the staff and the company makes him the perfect CEO to lead the company into the future,” says retiring CEO, Gunnar Lund. As Jonas is now taking over at Combimix, his role will be to develop the company, at the same time as to preserve Combimix’ uniqueness on the market. “Close cooperation with our customers has always been a key factor in our success. And that is how we shall continue to work,” says Jonas Lund.
Combimix has always been quick to pick up signals from the market and implement them in new products.
As a company, Combimix has always been characterised by the provision of a higher customer service level compared with its competitors and the ability to quickly determine what the customers’ needs are and how to satisfy them. “Combimix has always been quick to pick up signals from the market and implement them in new products. I believe this has determined some of our success factors. Another factor has been our focus on service. As a contender on the market, you have to be much better than your competitors in order to be perceived as just as good. I think that we have been able to achieve this, we have always been on the alert,” says Jonas Lund.
Since its start in 2001, much has happened at Combimix. In particular, the company has grown with its successes. But it has not been an easy ride. “The first years were of course tough, there were no open doors, we had to fight our way onto the market, and we made many mistakes in the beginning. But when we chose to go directly to the end customer instead of through middlemen, we felt that we had made the right decision,” says Gunnar Lund. This strategy also meant that the middlemen started to take an interest in Combimix. Proof of our success was when we received the “Gazelle company of the year” award in 2007 and 2009.
IToday Combimix has 53 employees and a turnover of approximately SEK 300 million. For Jonas the challenge is to maintain Combimix’ pioneering spirit and, at the same time, ensure that the company continues to grow. “We will become the big company with a small company’s agility to respond quickly to customers’ wants and needs,” says Jonas Lund.
